Street Outreach
Meeting people where they are, building trust and understanding the person before trying to solve the problem.

Work & Impact
Phinius has spent years alongside people facing homelessness, trauma and exclusion. Those relationships have shaped practical responses in rehabilitation, housing, violence prevention and advocacy, all grounded in one conviction: lasting change begins by seeing the person clearly and creating a meaningful way forward.
Explore the ImpactPhinius founded Rea Thusana Foundation to turn compassion into practical, long-term support for people facing homelessness and vulnerability.
Through the foundation, people are connected to rehabilitation, skills development, employment opportunities, family reconciliation and housing support, with the goal of helping them move toward stability, belonging and sustainable independence.

It began with relationships, conversations and the realities of life on the street.
Over time, those encounters revealed a much bigger picture. Homelessness is rarely the result of one event. Trauma, addiction, violence, poverty, fractured relationships, housing and exclusion often intersect.
That changed the question from simply, “How do we help this person today?” to “What needs to change around them so that tomorrow can look different?”
Today, Phinius moves between both realities: responding to immediate human need while challenging communities and institutions to think more deeply about the conditions that keep people trapped.
At twelve, Phinius witnessed his stepfather attack his mother. That experience shaped his conviction that men must take responsibility for ending violence against women.

Phinius’s involvement reaches across different parts of the same human story, from someone’s first conversation on the street to the longer journey toward recovery, safety and belonging.
Meeting people where they are, building trust and understanding the person before trying to solve the problem.
Helping people take the next step toward recovery, stability and the support needed to rebuild their lives.
Standing alongside women affected by violence, trauma and exploitation while advocating for safer and more dignified responses.
Engaging men around masculinity, violence, responsibility, belonging and the cycles that can draw people into harm.
Advocating for pathways that move people beyond temporary shelter toward safety, stability and a place to belong.
Bringing lived realities into wider conversations through speaking, writing and engagement with communities and institutions.
Years of direct engagement have grown into organisations, pathways and forms of support designed to help people move from crisis toward greater stability, connection and independence.

The organisation Phinius founded to support people facing homelessness and vulnerability through practical pathways toward restoration and independence.
Connections into rehabilitation, recovery support and the relationships needed to help people sustain change beyond the first step.
Support and advocacy for women affected by gender-based violence, trauma, exploitation and vulnerability.
Helping people rebuild family relationships, reconnect with community and prepare for a more stable life beyond the street.
Advocating for responses that move beyond temporary shelter toward safer, more sustainable housing and genuine belonging.
Using writing, speaking and public engagement to challenge simplistic narratives and bring greater humanity to conversations about homelessness and exclusion.

Transformation is rarely one decision or one intervention. It develops through relationship, understanding and practical steps that give people room to rebuild.
Before there is a solution, there has to be trust. It begins by seeing the person, listening to their story and meeting them with dignity.
Trauma, family, addiction, poverty, violence and belonging can all shape where someone finds themselves. Understanding that context changes how we respond.
Compassion has to become practical. That may mean rehabilitation, housing, employment, family reconnection, advocacy or simply the right support at the right moment.
Personal restoration matters, but so do the conditions around a person. Lasting change also asks how communities, institutions and systems can respond differently.

Phinius Sebatsane’s work is rooted in lived experience, long-term community engagement and a conviction that dignity must shape the way people respond to homelessness, trauma and exclusion.
His journey connects frontline practice with writing, speaking, faith, peace and justice, always returning to the person behind the problem.
See the person before the problem.
